Hi-Tech is building Tomorrow's World Today. Welcome to the 21st century.
It is no secret that IHI is one of my favorite long term investing themes.
While an aggressive, high risk, high reward investment, I nonetheless strongly
believe that this will be one stellar company. In this posting section,
I have put together a number of previous and current IHI postings.
21ST CENTURY ENGINEERING AND DESIGN
The IHI General Meeting was held in their new Vancouver show home, one more unit of IHI progress. While this is an unusual setting for a GM, it is characteristic of the family company feeling of IHI. IHI shareholders feel part of the extended IHI family. The biggest news announced this past Friday was the ordering of the batching plant and its expected production in January. The last major step, Robotic equipment ordering is under active negotiation, and an announcement is expected in due course. [And on a positive note, as Robotic delivery will be in the Spring, no Y2K hardware/software problems will be encountered!] Progress has been slower than most shareholders would like, but it is steady and sure.
THE QUALITY OF THE FACTORY IS TOP WORLD CLASS
The Delta factory is 77,000 square feet. The feeling of this large building is both friendly and extremely functional. The design in impeccable as you would expect from a Virgo Stellium native such as Roger has. Quality, as the Ford motto goes is "job number one." Every piece of equipment is first class, as well as the building materials used across the board from windows to electrical and mechancal items and gas meter (the second largest in BC). While we have waited and waited and waited, not always patiently, just as Christmas is coming, step by step so is IHI.
I continue to believe within 6-18 months, long term investors will have been well rewarded for their trials. As always, we have a BUY recommendation on IHI stock.
The main question I am asked is: "When will IHI stock go up?"
This depends on the company meeting several milestones. The following
are conservative estimates given to me by one knowledgeable trader.
"The first key milestone will be factory production of panels. This can
come as early as Winter 2000. This should move the stock to $2-$3.
The key move will come after the first quarterly reporting proving
the lower cost of production. At that time we can expect $7-$10."
As to my own view, I am in a marriage situation with IHI. I foresee
far higher stock prices. When will this occur? When more investors
see what I see!
READER: I am really worried. Every time I punch in the IHITF ticker
on the main Yahoo site, for the first time ever, it keeps coming up no
such ticker. I have been in every day and it always shows when I punch
it in -- has anything happened ???
HW: "IHITF.OB" is the new Yahoo symbol for IHITF. I would recommend
using a better source for delayed Canadian quotes than Yahoo. The single
best source is - no surprise - www.stox.com. Otherwise, I prefer
www.bridge.com.
READER: Did you hear any news from the folks in Florida about the progress
of their project while you were at the AGM in Vancouver?
HW: 1) Land secured in Orlando area and 2) Hurricane Floyd is a great
marketing tool :)
READER: Do you think Penny stocks are the best investments if your funds
are low?
HW: Only if you are an impatient investor and have a high tolerance
for risk! You can lose most, if not all your money as well as gain
high rewards. Are you honestly willing to accept the possibility
that you can lose your entire investment, as well as the glory of the your
stock portfolio doubling and tripling?
If the answer is yes, you may wish to check out our favorite Penny
Stock: International High Tech Industries,
which trades on the OTC BB under the symbol IHITF.
READER: Being so far away I need reassurance re IHI. What baffles
me is last time in May - well you know the price just ran up and I thought
this time we would see at least a 50% rise this week - something doesn't
make sense.
HW: In February, IHI had 250,000 visitors at the BC show. This
was a GM and 400 person shareholder factory party. I did expect
more as an important announcement was made. If you saw the factory progress,
you would be somewhat reassured, although remain impatient as we all are.
As one investor banker who has been with IHI since the beginning said "It
is almost here, and as to the stock-the sky is the limit." Most people
close to the company think the same thing.
